The Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County has asked me to put together a music video for their annual birthday bash celebration honoring donors, sponsors and parents for the past three years. The music video plays on the big screen at the event, hosted annually at the Double Tree Hotel, and serves as a way for community members to get a sneak peak at the positive environment that the club provides on a day to day basis for kids in our community who otherwise might not have a safe place to go after school.
Every year brings a new theme for the birthday bash and the music video, and getting a chance to worth with area youth to make each year’s unique video makes this video project one of my favorite projects. This year we celebrated the fact that the Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County has reached its 10th Anniversary providing a positive place for kids. Staff decided to go with a classic song representative of looking back on the clubs past ten years, and seeing as the birthday bash occurs every September that made the song selection for this video a no-brainer.
Every year I offer one pro bono video project (that’s right, free professional video production) to 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the community, and The Boys and Girls club of La Plata County was the first recipients of this program back in 2015.
