In 2024 1st Southwest Bank celebrated their 10-year anniversary as a Colorado community-focused bank. First Established in the San Luis Valley, the bank works closely with rural Colorado communities, including agriculture and small businesses. The bank’s special designation by the US Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution means they can offer low-cost loans to help grow the local communities they serve! First Southwest Bank now serves Durango, Cortez and Pagosa Springs in addition to their locations in Alamosa and Center, Colorado. Durango entities like Animas Chocolate Factory, Desert Sun Coffee Roasters, Esoterra Ciderworks, Animas Mobile Home Park and Axis Health Systems have all benefitted from First Southwest Bank’s CDFI programs.
